Can AI answer the phone when I cannot?

Can an assistant answer from my own documents and prices?
That is retrieval-augmented generation, usually shortened to RAG: the assistant answers from your own material rather than from whatever a general model happens to know. Your price list, your policies, your product notes. If the answer is not in there, it says so instead of inventing one.
Do I have to replace the software I already pay for?
Usually not. A lot of the work is joining up tools a business already has, so the same order stops being retyped from one screen into another. Replacing something is a decision, not a starting point.
